Job Summary:

Cognizant is seeking a Global Mobility Tax Senior Manager to join its in-house Global Assignment Centre of Excellence. This role focuses on expatriate taxation, social security, and global mobility policies. The selected candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to facilitate seamless international assignments and business travel compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic guidance on global mobility tax, expatriate taxation, social security, and employer of record arrangements.
Manage shadow payroll, cost estimates, and tax return programs for international assignments.
Collaborate with the STAP CoE team on cross-border tax compliance and cost accruals.
Conduct due diligence for new assignment locations in partnership with corporate tax and legal teams.
Support India outbound assignments with net pay calculations and tax return coordination.
Participate in project-based initiatives related to global mobility and taxation.
Work with payroll, immigration, and talent management teams for tax-compliant employee relocations.
Identify and implement cost-saving tax strategies and social security optimizations.
Oversee vendor relationships, invoicing, and fee management related to mobility tax services.
Liaise with external tax advisors and internal compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualification:

Tax/accounting qualification with 10+ years of experience in expatriate taxation.
Proven expertise in global tax compliance, employment tax, and social security regulations.
Experience managing expatriate tax programs in a multinational corporation or a Big 4 advisory firm.
Practical knowledge of India’s income tax, benefits, and provident fund regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience working in virtual teams across multiple time zones.
Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of European or Asian languages is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of tax equalization, hypothetical taxes, shadow payroll, and social security agreements.
Exposure to US tax return filings is an advantage.
