Job Role:
Assistant Manager – Jewelry Grading
Location:
Surat, Gujarat, India
Job Responsibilities:
Jewelry Grading & Analysis
Grade finished jewelry (primarily diamond-studded) with high accuracy.
Utilize gemological tools and technology for thorough inspection and evaluation.
Analyze quality factors like gemstone clarity, metal composition, and craftsmanship.
Quality Control
Conduct internal audits to maintain uniform grading standards.
Monitor consistency and rectify any discrepancies in grading reports.
Participate in calibration sessions to align team performance with global standards.
Team Management & Training
Lead and support a team of jewelry graders and lab assistants.
Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and feedback to enhance team performance.
Assist in performance appraisals and professional development planning.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of evaluations and final grading decisions.
Generate comprehensive grading reports and internal documentation.
Operational Oversight
Ensure optimal use and care of grading instruments.
Uphold laboratory protocols for safety, hygiene, and compliance.
Stay updated with changes in industry trends and IGI internal grading standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: 15 years of formal education is mandatory.
Acceptable combinations include:
10th + 12th + Graduation
10th + 12th + Diploma
Skills:
Strong knowledge of diamond and gemstone grading techniques
Expertise in using gemological equipment and software
Team leadership and mentoring abilities
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and documentation abilities
Experience Required:
Total Experience: 4 to 7 years
Relevant Experience: Hands-on experience in jewelry grading (especially diamond-studded pieces)
Experience in team management is essential.
Salary:
Up to ₹10 LPA (Based on qualifications and relevant experience)
