About the Role

Meesho is looking for a talented Database Engineer II to join our technology team in Bangalore. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing and managing NoSQL database engineering best practices at scale. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless database performance, maintenance, and optimization. Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and monitor multiple Relational/NoSQL database clusters.
• Oversee both in-house and SaaS database solutions in a public cloud environment.
• Diagnose, mitigate, and communicate database-related issues with stakeholders.
• Design and implement best practices for provisioning, tuning, upgrading, and decommissioning database clusters.
• Optimize cost-control mechanisms for database infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and support to product, engineering, and operations teams.
• Ensure efficient backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Automate deployment approaches for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Research and implement innovative database solutions to enhance performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations for database support.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in managing Relational/NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigTable, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, ScyllaDB.
• Strong experience with Python programming for automation and database management.
• Hands-on expertise in cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Experience with deployment automation tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible).
• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and TCP/IP stack.
• Proven ability to lead database projects and deliver scalable solutions.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT is a plus.
